Danny + Baothy
This past weekend, we had the privilege of shooting a unique couple, Danny and Baothy. When we arrived at Lincoln Park Zoo, the scene was perfect. The sun wasn’t too harsh, and the clouds were doing an excellent job in keeping the day cool. Danny and Baothy spend their Saturdays going to yard sales together, rummaging for cheap used SLR cameras, shooting around the city, and developing film together. From understanding what they enjoyed doing together, we wanted this shoot to really portray their connection to film photography. We asked them to bring their cameras as props for the shoot, and they even had matching SLR cameras! The photos were then edited to give a vintage and “softness” effect, a similar tone-curve you get with film photos. On top of that, there was even a cute photobooth that served as a perfect prop for our theme. We also agreed on Lincoln Park Zoo, and it could not have served as a more appropriate background for the actively curious couple. The scenic view reflects their easygoing personalities while the ornate food stands and various displays really emphasize their evergrowing desires for spontaneous fun. Danny and Baothy were extremely friendly and were ready to try out anything we threw at them. It was a wonderful afternoon and we couldn’t ask for a couple that was so similar to us. Their curiosity of the world gave their lives a continuous adventure while their sweet love kept them grounded to each other. We were so fortunate to capture a glimpse of their journey and cannot wait to see what else is in store for them!
